This is just a short status report on the Raffle Bus.
We all had a great time Saturday at the Bus Build Brunch and Photo Shoot! Thanks to everyone who came and brought their buses and vans…. The pot luck brunch was a great success. Thank you Greta and Russell for your hospitality and hard work.
Bill is so observant. He noticed some of the screws holding on the DeLuxe trim were too long and gave us some good ideas on how to fix that. Also noticed that one of the metal trim clips was not holding properly.
So Tuesday I followed up and was able to shorten two of the offending screws and replaced the metal clip with a plastic one. Seemed to fix the problem but we’ll see.
Also mounted the antenna and now the radio is completely installed.
An area of real concern is the remote oil filter and the way the hoses are routed. The hoses are too long because the fittings on the top of the filter adapter need to be reclocked for this bus and location. Had to drain the oil to remove the adapter hoses from the oil pump at the case. I brought it home and worked on it for a while and think I have it sorted out. I won’t know for sure until I try and hook it up again. When I removed the hoses from the fittings, I found they were a little loose on those fittings. 1/2” fittings and 5/8” hose I think. I have some better hose that’s exactly the correct size that I’ll use as a substitute. Hopefully I’ll have enough. We’ll see.
Good news on the front seats. The covers have been all sewn up and Jeremy will be able to spend a few hours getting them on the seats when he returns next week from a family event in Utah. Mike has been super diligent in making this work for the club. It hasn’t always been easy and we owe Mike a big Thank You for pretty much single handedly making this happen. He does so much for the club, always in the background, and I truly appreciate his efforts. Thank You.
I should be able to have everything back together tomorrow. Today is domestic harmony day and I have a lot of catching up to do. Thank heavens I’m married to a saint!
