Mike and David came by this morning and installed our new Magna Spark ignition system donated by CB Performance. I took it out for a test drive and what a difference! I think anyone who drives a bus should make this conversion. It runs great….

Raffle Bus Update - June 8, 2025
Another beautiful morning in the Jamboree Bus. Almost no traffic, nice sunrise, and really cool weather. Put 96 miles on the bus and it ran great.
Couple of items:
There is some sort of oil leak somewhere causing drips on the driveway. Someone who knows where to look could tell I’m sure. I don’t have a clue. The carburetor needs to be adjusted. Cold start is not easy like it was when we first got it. Hot start is still fine. Maybe Mike can take a look tomorrow at the first cold start? Forgot to mention that we now have 269 miles on the bus on our way to 500. Gonna be a long week……

Raffle Bus Update from John - June 5, 2025
40 Miles On The Freeway!!
Made it to Russell’s a little before 6:00a this morning. Sunrise was absolutely gorgeous…. Added a half quart of oil, installed the new air cleaner from Wolfsburg West and hit the road. Added about 5 gallons of fuel so I’d be sure and not run out and finally got on the 51 about 6:40a. Drove about 50-55mph the whole way to my house, about 40 miles. Con't reading the blog post.

Raffle Bus Update from John - May 29, 2025
Planned on spending about 2 hours doing the final hose routing/installing on the remote oil filter. The first hose went on easy, 50 minutes? Looking just like I’d hoped. The second hose, not so much. The hose I brought from home was 1-1/2” too short! So had to go to Orielly’s, Ace and NAPA, second trip today for NAPA, before I found hose the right size and strong enough to work. Raffle Bus Mid-Week Update - May 28, 2025
This is just a short status report on the Raffle Bus.
We all had a great time Saturday at the Bus Build Brunch and Photo Shoot! Thanks to everyone who came and brought their buses and vans…. The pot luck brunch was a great success. Thank you Greta and Russell for your hospitality and hard work.
Bill is so observant. He noticed some of the screws holding on the DeLuxe trim were too long and gave us some good ideas on how to fix that. Also noticed that one of the metal trim clips was not holding properly.
So Tuesday I followed up and was able to shorten two of the offending screws and replaced the metal clip with a plastic one. Seemed to fix the problem but we’ll see. Continue reading the blog post.

Thanks to Wayne, Ed, and Russell for getting the DeLuxe Trim on the raffle bus. Took a lot of prodding, tweaking, some drilling and colorful language but it looks really good. Russell and Ed got the sun visors in and Russell installed the wipers. Thanks guys! Oh, and we're legal! Check out the last image. 👀
Let's Not Forget Those Tires...

Raffle Bus Mid-Week Update 4-30-25
Thanks to Wayne, Dan, Russell, Brian, Bill M., and Greg B. for helping out at this week’s unofficial get together over at Russell’s.
Special shout out to Wayne and Dan for driving to Yuma last week and picking up the engine from Jim Burnite. They brought it to Russell’s and we unloaded it and it’s sitting in the garage just waiting to be installed this week…..
Dan, Wayne, and I were able to get the rubber air seals slid into their channels in the engine bay and the rear support deck thing. Not sure exactly what it’s called.

Raffle Bus #34 Work - Jan. 29, 2025
Well gang- we had planned to have a bus build this Saturday 2/1/2025 but we needed to have the bus painted to proceed with the build. As you have noticed, it’s been too cold to paint, so this has not been able to be done. Therefore, there WILL NOT be a build this Saturday. We need the temps to be over 70F for the primer and paint to stick to the metal.
In the meantime, Greg Pickrel and I cut the plywood for the sub floor and Greg Burlucchi came by and primed it. Greg B. also helped cut the plywood for the z bed.
